What does "Prana" Mean?

Prana means “life force” or “vital energy” in Sanskrit.

It’s like electricity to the body, and available from nature, sun, food, water, sleep, exercise, spiritual practice, people, and the environment.

To align your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health you need to understand your energy inputs and outputs. When there is alignment there is less risk of pain, injury, and chronic health conditions within the self.

After a thorough subjective and objective assessment we provide a comprehensive treatment plan like no other so you have a clear direction of what needs to be done, and a roadmap to success.

We have high quality Ayurvedic oils/needles for manual therapy, and a functional gym and movement space within Tribe Wellness Co so that we can provide you with pain relief and preventative tools with precision and attention to detail.

Your home exercises and other lifestyle recommendations are sent to you after each session so you don’t have to remember it all! We just want to make sure you get the best results.

All Physiotherapy, dry needling, exercise rehab, pilates, yoga, breathwork, and meditation sessions can be claimed back through private health on the day of your session.

We are experts and leaders within our field and are committed to staying up to date with the best practices. Whilst we acknowledge traditional therapies we also employ the latest evidence-based practices.

Our story & our vision

Shivani recognised the gaps within the Physiotherapy and Medical industry, including business models, management, and treatment practices, that did not align with her core values – honesty, communication, self-awareness, openness, compassion, and community.

Whilst this isn’t the case for everyone, Shivani listened to a large number of clients share their struggles and experiences, including not feeling seen, feeling misunderstood, dismissed, unclear, frustrated, overcharged, and with no long-term progress. These clients lost hope and trust with the health system as well as themselves. As a result clients put up with their pain, persevered with training, and continued with life. There is a better way.

Shivani founded Prana Physio and Wellness in 2023 to create a community of like-minded, highly qualified professionals, committed to professional and personal growth. A community that genuinely cares, with a team dedicated to support individuals to be the best versions of themselves.

Prana Physio and Wellness recognises that in order to address the root cause of pain and injury multiple systems of health and wellness need to be assessed, understood and treated for the best outcome, in the long term. We aim to bridge the gap between Western and Eastern Medicine, providing you with the best of both worlds.

Through different forms of physiotherapy treatment, movement, breath, mindfulness, and meditation practices, Prana Physio and Wellness is determined to create a positive change within the industry to promote individuals to be an active participant in looking after their own health and wellness. Shivani is a highly qualified AHPRA registered physiotherapist, clinical pilates instructor, and traditional yoga teacher. She is a highly reputable clinician and leader within her industry with a wealth of experience and knowledge.

Her passion and zest for her craft will inspire you, empower you, and guide you on a path of self-exploration and realisation. Her approach is like no other, and will transform your body, mind, and spirit beyond your symptoms. She will help you reach your full potential and achieve your goals.

From a young age Shivani knew that she was meant to be of service to people. She followed her calling to study Physiotherapy at the University of Notre Dame, and completed her Bachelor in Physiotherapy in 2016.

Shivani’s fascination and curiosity of the human body and mind led her do 3 Clinical Pilates courses, a 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training certification, alongside countless Physiotherapy/Health/Wellness lectures, seminars, workshops, and mentoring programs with leaders in the field. Shivani feels that her learning will never stop, as she’s here to be the best practitioner she can be for you.

Her passion is to help you connect more deeply with your body and mind, and more importantly your truth. Let go of your pain, move your body with more ease, and navigate your challenges with her support. She can help you address any barriers to your progress, to overcome injury, improve your relationship with pain, prevent pain and injury, and to empower you with tools that you can take away to reduce and manage your symptoms and limitations.

She will not only guide you to improve your health, wellness, and performance, but will inspire you to embark on a process of self-discovery, to encourage you to be your best physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Her mission is to make a positive change in your life. She is friendly, welcoming, warm, and open, making people feel at home. She provides meaningful care to every client, improving their quality of life. Shivani has a strong focus on the client’s specific needs, preferences and interests to motivate them to achieve their goals.

Shivani is committed to ongoing professional development to ensure all assessments and treatments are effective and up to date with the evidence-based literature, to optimise the client’s functional capacity, and to minimise injury recurrence. She provides a holistic approach to guide clients to promote a healthy balanced lifestyle.

Shivani is well-travelled and loves to learn about new cultures. She speaks English, French and Gujurati fluently, and knows basic Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese. When she is in Perth she loves exploring W.A.’s hidden hiking and swimming spots. She loves being outdoors in nature – especially at the beach! Shivani is a social butterfly and enjoys spending time with family and friends and meeting new people, trying new things and getting out of her comfort zone. She is spiritual in nature and reads personal development books to be her best self, positively encouraging others to lead their best happy and healthy life too. Her uplifting attitude is contagious!
